The theme of Bronx Masquerade is about people who are hiding their true selves and wanting to show everyone who they really are. My supporting evidence is that the people that shared out their poems in the book said that they wanted to show everyone true selves and didn't want to act what other people think of them. One of the examples is the tall girl that wanted to be a artist and everybody thought she was good at sports, but she wasn't and she really didn't like sports and wanted to show her true self.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of Bronx Masquerade is finding who you really are inside. All of the characters in this book so far don’t know who they really are; it’s like their wearing a mask. For example Tyrone is like a tough guy who always has a comment to say but in his raps he is a whole other person. When he writes its like it takes him to a whole other world where he is himself. I just think that this characters need to open up and show who they really are deep down inside.
ReplyDeleteIn this book the characters we’ve read about so far are judged and stereotyped by their peers. To satisfy them they hid behind mask. All of them want to do other things with their lives. The theme of the book to me is the title masquerade. This is because they all hid behind a mask at school. Then when they leave school they take it off. This is the theme I consistently see in the book so far.
ReplyDeleteThe theme is they all feel miss jugged the evidence to that is they all are don't like what people think of them that what they say.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of the book as I might say is scared but only because all the people are scared to show them real selves. But not sure that would be the theme I actually thought in mind that the theme of this book is "not showing who you really are." I say that because all of the characters in the book are being somebody else when in school but the know that they left their real selves at home.
ReplyDeleteBased on “Bronx Masquerade” there are multiple themes for this book. Such as love, friendships, relationships, drama, failure, cultures, and fear. With evidence from the book and the characters, Chankara talks about all of the themes, and Raul spoke about cultures, and Wesley spoke about failure and being bad , but deeply he is a good kid. This book can be dedicated to real people in life with real life situations.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of this book might be struggle. Every character in this book talks about how they have to deal with different situations in school. Like in the case of Tyrone, he shows people in school some one who doesn’t care about anything. A person who tries to be tough, who thinks life is not important. When it comes to Tyrone writing down his rhymes, he puts all his feelings and thoughts into paper, and makes it sound great. He has a talent that not everyone thinks is importand
ReplyDeleteThe theme of the book “The Bronx Masquerade” is struggle. One reason why the theme is struggle is because most of the characters in the book are struggling in they’re lives. One example of struggle comes from Tyrone. He is struggling to keep his grade up in school. Another example of struggle comes from Porscha Johnson. Her struggle is to keep her anger away from her mother. The entire story so far has struggle in it.
ReplyDeleteThe theme is feeling judged and not to live life as masked. This is the theme because in every story someone feels like there being judge. Ex: Diondra is about her height & Devon love to read but people sees him as an “All Star”. In the title of this book it says “Masquerade” which means mask.

ReplyDeleteThe theme is Poetry and Rhyme Young Adult. Tyrone tries to act grown but he isn’t grown. Tryon is like a hood kid. He hates school, looks out for Tansiha Scott. His father died in a drive-by when he was five. He doesn't want to get a job. His mother got mad at him for wanting to be a rapper. He once said that he wouldn't hang out with Ray nard because he was white, but later changed his mind. His best friend is Wesley.
ReplyDeleteThinking about Tyrone, Wesley, Chankara, Raul, Diondra and Devon...what is theme of Bronx Masquerade? What is your supporting evidence?
ReplyDeleteThe theme of this book is expressing yourself through ones poem but hiding who you are in reality. That is the theme of the book because the character expresses his/her self in the poems and wants people to listen to them. That is the theme because one of the characters in the book like Diondra, said she is afraid to be who she is because she does not want to be made fun of even more so she expresses her feelings in her poem.
The theme is to not live life masked. Also to be yourself and not live in others thoughts or shadows.
ReplyDeleteDiondra was living in others thoughts which was that she should play basketball because of her weight. Devon was masked by thought of being scared of judgment since he is an all star playing basketball. He mainly like reading books but had to sneak. So the theme to me is don't be scared of your true self.
The theme of Bronx Masquerade is about people who are hiding their true selves Also , In the title of the book it says “Masquerade” the word "Masq" which means mask. Most of the characters in the book are struggling in they’re lives. Also, everyone in the book feel miss jugged.
ReplyDeleteThe theme of Bronx Masquerade was love, relationships, and friendships. An example of love and relationship is when Tyrone and Chankara were in a relationship. An example of friendship is Wesley Boone and Tyrone. “Except for my homey Tyrone.” That’s why I say that the theme of Bronx Masquerade was love, relationships, and friendships.
