  1. Shawn and Christopher Nolan are similar in many ways. The reason they are similar is because they are both brilliant and no one really recognized it, until they began to pay attention. Shawn is in a wheelchair and his body is in a structure that he cannot move. Based on the article Christopher Nolan had cerebral palsy which means he cannot control his arms or legs, which means they bodies are basically in no use. Shawn on the other hand, also has no control. They are both paralyzed. But their brilliance is beyond normal. Shawn has a memory that no one is incapable to have, and a sense that animals only have. While Christopher Nolan had a talent to speak to people through his words, by using a stick to type on a typewriter with a unicorn stick attached to his forehead. Both of these males are very brilliant, and yet they are still being misunderstood, because everyone’s opinions control their thoughts based on the males, which is not right. But yet then again, no one will understand until they hear them out.

  2. The ways Christopher Nolan is similar to Shawn from Stuck In Neutral are that they both have a birth defect that prevent them from controlling his arms and legs. They both also like to use their imagination and they also want to express their thoughts. "Knowing that Christopher's imagination worked perfectly fine, his parents encouraged their partially paralyzed son to think and dream."

  3. Christopher Nolan and Shawn are similar because in the article it stated that Christopher control his body movements and in speed it also sated the same facts. In the article it also stated that he was gifted and in the book it said that Shawn was gifted with remembering every thing he remember. That is how they are similar.

  4. Some ways Christopher Nolan is similar to Shawn from Stuck in Neutral is that they both are paralyzed. Christopher and Shawn had brain injury when they were born. An example “Nolan had cerebral palsy due to a brain injury at birth. The condition usually causes people to be partly paralyzed.” Christopher and Shawn both use their imaginations when they communicate with other people.

  5. I think they are alike not just because they are disabled because they are smart. A lot of people would think they are dumb because there paralyzed but there not they have talent and they may not be able too control there body but they can think. Shawn is always thinking in the book and plus he narrates it , he remembers everything also . And Christopher can write very good and his poetry Is amazing . His mother said that my son “has amazing talents”.

  6. Shawn and Christopher Nolan are alike in many ways. Nolan and Shawn both have cerebral palsy. Shawn couldn’t control anything BUT Nolan couldn’t control his arms, legs and he couldn’t speak. Shawn couldn’t either. They are also different because Nolan is a grown up and Shawn is a teen. Both Nolan and Shawn both were born with brain conditions that led to this. Shawn’s family did also help him to learn but in his eyes he felt that he was a dummy due to what others said. Nolan got help a lot. The help that he deserved and he got it. His condition didn’t differ him from who he was and what he did. That’s the difference between Shawn and Nolan. Rest In Peace Nolan <3.

  7. After reading today’s article “ The man who loved words”, Christopher and Shawn have some things in common for example is both where born paralyzed. In the article it talks about “Nolan having cerebral palsy because of brain damaged at birth, and that in Stuck in Neutral and he was born with brain damage so he cant control what he moves and does. The difference between the too is the Shawn is a made up character and it’s a book that is fiction and Nolan is a real person.

  8. Shawn and Christopher are similar because they both have cerebral palsy. Both Shawn and Christopher are very bright people with this condition. The difference between two is that Christopher wrote and published books. “He tapped the keys of a typewriter with a "unicorn stick" that was strapped to his forehead.” That’s how he wrote all these different books.

  13. After reading today's article, "The Man Who Loved Words," describe in what ways Christopher Nolan is similar to Shawn from Stuck in Neutral and in what ways he is different.

In the book Shawn could had seizures and could not write. Christopher Nolan could write and he didn't have seizures. Something they have in common is cerebral palsy. Another thing they have in common is both families tried to teach them how to write. Only Nolan learned in this case. The text did not say if Nolan was in a wheel chair but if he was he would be like Shawn too. Stuck in Neutral relates to Nolan's story.

  14. After reading today’s article Christopher Nolan is similar to Shawn because they both have Cerebral palsy plus there both smart. They both overcame their incident. They are both survivors. Both of them are very smart. But they can’t move there legs, and arms. They can’t control their movements of there body. I’m happy for them because they overcame their incident. Nolan wanted to be a poet by having imagination and the encouragement by his parents. Shawn almost was down from his dad wanting to kill him. Bu he didn’t let that get to him. THERE BRAVE.

  15. Shawn and Christopher Nolan are similar in many ways. One way that they are similar is because they both have Cerebral Palsy. Another way that they are similar is because they both are good at poetry. I know this because in book Shawn was really good at poetry and in the article Christopher was a really good writer. They are different in many ways. One way that they are different is because Shawn can not write he just thinks about his writing and Christopher can actually write.

  20. The man in "The man who loved words" was similar to Shawn in "Stuck in Neutral" because they both have Cerebral Palsy. They had to overcome challenges. They both were smart kids. The man was a smart kid who could write poetry and Shawn was a kid that remembered every aspect of his life.

  21. They had the same problem. But Christopher Nolan could move his head to writ poems. and shawn can't move at all. So if shawn was going to write a poems or do anything he couldn't cause he cant move. But Christopher could cause he could move his head.

  22. Shaun and Christopher both have cerebral palsy. The both are making the best of what the have. They will not let cerebral palsy get the best of them and tern there lives inside out and upside down. The difference is that Shaun doesn’t like to write and Christopher is a gifted writer. Its not that Shaun doesn’t like to write its just that he cant write. Those are the things that they have in common and the thongs that make them different.

  23. Shaun and Christopher are some what alike, Shaun could not move. Christopher goes through the same thing just as Shaun goes through, They both also have cerebral palsy. So if they both told each other their stories they would find them selves in common.

  24. Both people are very smart but no one really sees it. Like Shawn his imagination is incredible. Nolan had cerebral palsy due to a brain injury at birth. The condition usually affects a person's ability to control body movements. Nolan was unable to speak or control his arms or legs. This was found in paragraph 3. The ways that they are different are that Christopher’s parents are supportive and notice him when Shawn’s parents just see him in a chair but don’t really know him.
