How do you feel about not being able to use slang in the classroom?

I understand why we are not supposed to use it but it makes me feel uncomfortable because I usually use slang I also think the consequences are fair.

Will it be helpful for you?

I think it will because eventually I wont use it as much as I do and that’s a good thing so hopefully that works.

    Will it be challenging?

Yes it will because I use it everyday its like forgetting a language or not being able to use it.

Do you think there is a point to doing it? Explain why for all questions.

Yes I think there is because eventually we are going to want to do something professional and we can’t use that kind of language.

  2. I don't use slang that much during the day so I think it won’t be any different. It might be Helpful but I’m not really shore because I don’t use slang that much. No because I hardly use slang so I won't be challenging o use slang in one class. I think there is a point for doing it because the teachers don't understand when we talk in slang.

  4. How do you feel about not being to use slang in the classroom? Will it Be helpful for you? Will it be challenging? Will it be challenging?

Well it really is not a big deal because its just words we cant use. It really dont matter because its just words. No, it will not be challenging because its just words. No, there's no point of doing it because its just words.

  5. What I believe that not using slang will be difficult. But I can try to do my best and develop my grammar.

It's a good point because if you get a job interview we will have correct slang. This is getting us ready for high school.

  6. I think that it is a good idea that we can’t use slang in the classrooms, because some people are just so used to using slang. So when they type they end up writing slang words instead of job words. I think this would be a good opportunity for me to learn how to speak and write properly. I honestly do think it will be a challenge because I usually use slang a lot so it’s going to be difficult but I will manage. I do think there is a point to doing this, the point is to prepare us for good life we have ahead of us. For example when we are on job interviews we will be able to speck professionally.

  7. I feel that its actually good that we are not using slang words. It will be helpful that way like you said it can prepare us to know how to speak when we are going to a job interview or when we are all grown and talking as professional adults. I think that it will be challenging a bit, I'm so use to talking like that to my friends and sometimes some of my family members. Yes I do think there is a point on doing it because in the future I want my children (if I have any!) to talk the appropriate way.

  8. * How do you feel about not being able to use slang in the classroom?

It's definetly hard for me and especially for everybody else. I feel that it will be challenging because their was never a time in life when I didn't use slang(for a class period or an hour0.

    * Will it be helpful for you?
I think that not being able to use slang in class is kind of good because like Mr. Ebert said if you go to a job interview you would not use slang because they want you to speak proffesionaly.

    * Will it be challenging?
Yes because I grew up listening to slang and speaking it(even hearing it on a radio or iPOD)

    * Do you think there is a point to doing it? Explain why for all questions.
I think the point is to teach us that speaking proper(in the world's terms) is to act right. Basically it is a punishment because it is something that I don't use on the daily basis.

  10. I really don’t feel no way about not being able to use slang in class. As long as it is going to benefit me in the future, then I am okay with it. It might be kind of challenging to adjust to say goodbye to my friend “slang” but I will be able to switch over to speak properly. It will be helpful for all of us and I think this is a good point for doing this. Teachers want us to succeed and don’t want our resume to say, “My crib is so and so”. Instead of that, we can just say “My house or home”. That is much accurate. This will be a big adjustment but I believe that we can all do it. Goodbye Slang I love YOU and I’m going to miss you. : ) !

  11. To me it really doesn’t matter if we use slang in class or not in class because all it really is, is practice. Not being able to use slang in our class with be beneficial for us when we talk to adults or high school people because we will learn not to you use slang and get use to it. Slang will be helpful for me because I will be able to understand everything that’s being said and I will feel like I’m in an environment filled with intelligent people. Not being able to use slang and class will be pretty easy for me because it’s not something that I can’t stop my self from doing. I think the whole point of having a no slang zone is to help us learn to speak so everyone understands what we are saying and preparing us for college or anything professional.

  12. I feel that nothing will change from this. It will happen in other classes. We usually don’t use slang. It probable will be useful when you’re applying for a job. It probable will be challenging for some people. They always use it in sentences. Yes, I think the point is, as I said before, to help get jobs. It will also help with interviews for jobs. You need to speak clearly and understandable for them to understand. This is my explaination.

  13. I think not using slang in a classroom is really helpful because later in life when i go for a job interview i will speak proper instead of speaking in slang.I think not using slang in class will not be hard for me because i hardly use it so it would not really be a challenge for me.I think there a good point of not using slang in class because when we get a job we won't be able to talk slang and if we do we won't be able to get that job because they wouldn't hire someone to talk slang they would rather have hire a person who talks job because they will understand them better and will know this person wants the job. So i do think not using slang is good in the classroom.

I feel that I don’t care if we can’t use slang in the classroom because I really don’t use slang. Not using slang in the classroom will be helpful to me because my mom and my other elders and people older than me try to teach me to use proper language and not slang. For me personally I do not think it will be difficult to not use slang because like I said before I really don’t use slang and also because when we are at school we are around a bunch of teachers who speak properly all the time unless they are playing. Yes I do think there is a point in not talking slang because when we get older and have to go to college and when we get a job we have to talk with proper language because not all people understand slang and it is proper.

  16. I feel that its no big deal to not be able to use slang in the classroom because I don’t use slang that often, so It wont be a problem for me. It will be helpful for me because I will help me talk slang less or none at all in the future and as an adult. It wont be challenging because I don’t really use slang a lot. I don’t think there is a point to doing it because some people will still use slang in the future because it’s a habit for some people but maybe for other it will help, I don’t know.

  17. I fell very great on not using slang words around are fellow class mates and teachers in our class room community .The reason why I fell great about it is because its gets you smarter and to make better choices about you langue when you associate with different people and by not using slang words it can get you some where in life. Yes not using sling words will be helpful because it will teach me how to talk to people in a way that they will take it in respect and people will no im am intelligent if I use proper launge. No it will not be changing because I no it is something that I can do it will make me and other people feel better by doing the right thing. Yes I think there is a point for me to use proper langue because in life that is what I will have to use in order to be successful and get better jobs.

  20. • How do you feel about not being able to use slang in the classroom?

    • Will it be challenging?

How do I feel about using slang in the classroom? I don’t feel bad about it at all because I think slang is not really the way of life and being able to go places. I think its fine to use at home and after school just talking with my friends but if I was talking to an adult that I feel I should show my best side to I would not choose those words as my vocabulary throughout the conversation. It will be helpful to me because all summer I have been using slang words like on the internet, or talking on aim, or just talking with my friends, but now that school has started I have not been able to write words the way I should because my mind is telling me to write like I do on aim but I just try to make myself write the way I am supposed to. It will be challenging at some points but I will know how to write the right way before the whole school year ends. This year I am going to say goodbye to slang!!!

  21. I feel really frustrated about not being able to use slang. One reason why I feel frustrated is because I use slang a lot and it is going to be hard for me to speak proper English.

This will be helpful for me because I use slang a lot and if I stop using it now then it will help me in the future. The reason why this will help me in the future is because when I get a job it will be easier to speak proper English (job).

Yes, it will be challenging because i use slang a lot.

Yes, i do think there is a point of doing this because we are prepairing for high school and the future.

  22. 1) Have you ever been able to create the rules for your class?
No, I have not been able to make classroom rules because people don't always agree with me, so I don't but this time I have a little more confidence.

    2) Do you believe students will follow the rules that they create?
I ave a feeling that 90% of the class will follow the rules because why follow classroom rules when you can't follow school rules.

    3) Which rule do you believe will be the hardest to follow?
    None
