1) I did not enjoy the play it really bored me. The play bored me because it had nothing to do with my life. I didn’t even watch the play. I watched the men who did sign language on the side of the stage that was more entertaining.

I did enjoy Fences by August Wilson. It reminded me of books that we read in the past. I liked the play a lot; it was funny too. I also enjoyed how the play had a lesson to it.
ReplyDeleteThe main idea of the play was segregation. This was the theme because throughout the whole play, all you heard was “white folks” or “nigger”. That’s how they spoke back when segregation was worst than it is now.
My favorite character in the play was Troy. He was my favorite character because he taught me something. Although he was the alcoholic and an ignorant person, he still was a good person. To me, I personally chose him because he reminds me of my uncle. They have the same characteristics and they both act the exact same way. But at the end of the day, you got to love them.

My answer is yes and no, the reason I say no was because I thought that the was kind of boring because it’s not like the plays I like to watch and the reason I said yes was because it got interesting at some parts but then other parts would be so boring that’s what I think about the play Fence by August Wilson.

I think the title is the main idea of the play. Like what happens in the fence stays in the fence. For example if you notice that as the fence was building problems got bigger until the fence was finalized and the conflicts were finalized, some good, some bad.

The main idea to me was when Corey the football player wanted to play football but his father said he had to go back to the AME to get his job back. Corey did not do that so he told his father he was going to get his job back instead he went to his football game and got recruited by scouts. When he told his father that he got recruited his father went down to the felid and told them that his son does not want to play for them no more. So Corey came home mad and said dad you set me up because you did not want me to be better than you

I enjoyed the play fences because when I was watching it made me think like this is what’s really happening in the truth life. It’s more drama and action in it so that’s what mad me enjoy the play. To me there wasn’t no main idea because when I look at it seems like every thing you wanted to know was just mixed in the play so you would have to find out your self by paying close attchen. It was like a mystery but you had to gather all of the evidence so you can find out what the movie was about that’s my point of view when it comes to that question. My favorite character in this story is Troi because number one that’s my name and he plays a good roll in the play. And he is a good actor.

Also the title has something to do with the play as the fence was build the problems were getting more difficult and the family was getting destroyed, when they were trying to make the fence to keep the family together but it didn’t work.
My favorite character was Reynell, she was the one who was making me laugh. She is weird how she kept looking at Cory when she first seened him and something else is when she kept saying “hi”. Another character I liked was Gabe he was really funny to em he always came in t the wrong moments, but he made the play funny.
I really like the play a lot because it was fun and entertaining. Even if the setting was set back in the 1900’s it was fun. It was also stupid and and wearied. At the same time it was funny to watch.

For example the father didn’t make the baseball team when he was younger and he says the cause for that is because the coach was white and now that his son wants to play football and he has been recruited his father doesn’t want him to play because he says that he doesn’t want his son to get his feelings hurt because he doesn’t want the same thing to happen to him to happen to his son. But the mother wanted her son to play football.

I say that this is the main idea because I notice through out the play the fences was talk about and was important to the family because I notice every time the play got dark the fence become bigger but what I also notice well the fence grow the family was beginning to destroy. Even though the mother said “The Fence would keep the family together”.. but really the family was destroy.

My favorite character was Troy because he played in the movie Walking Tall and it was very exciting to hear that he played in that movie because I kept looking at him because I knew I saw him in a movie before. The main theme that stood out to me was when the Troy and Cory was fighting. The main part that made me think was when Troy and Cory got into a fight that really made me think a lot. August Wilson did a good job because the play was great and every body liked it.
I didn’t really enjoy the play because I didn’t like how troy treated both his son and wife bad but there was nothing else to do. The main idea of the play was troy and his son building the fence. My favorite character in the play was Cory because he stood out of the play but he wasn’t in the play that much until the end of the play.

Also the white people were treated like queens and kings while the black people were treated like garbage. It was really not that fair, because everyone might be different but we all should be treated equally.
I actually did not have a favorite character in the play. The reason I did not have a favorite part in the play was because every character had there own shine in the play. Everyone character in the play had a big part. They were all treated equally, well in the family only. But the character that stood out too me was Troy and Gabe. Troy stood out to be because he was tough and ignorant, while Gabe was sweet and sensitive. Every time Gabe will go to his brother’s house[ Troy] he will bring Rose a Rose. It was just very sweet of him to do that. So therefore they stood out the most too me. But I didn’t have one favorite character.
I enjoyed how Gabriel blows the horn and the gates of haven open. I enjoy it because he could not blow the horn. He was not making it sound right. At the end the sound from haven sounded and he said, “that’s the way it goes”. I thought it was funny. That is why its my favorite part.

Yes I did enjoy the play. The reason I enjoyed the play because it was very interesting because of the fact that there was many scenes that had characters that were angry, happy. Another reason why I enjoyed this play was because colored and white people had it way different. Blacks had it way harder then what the white people did. When the blacks wanted something they needed to work for it or they need to save for it. And the white people had everything they wanted.

Also another main idea I think was in the play fences was that there was a big secret that Troy was keeping from his family. Because the family didn’t know that, that was coming.
My favorite character was Rose and Cory because Rose loved her family and did what she had to do. Cory loved to play football and had a passion for it but his father wouldn’t let him do it. And Cory was angry with his father and didn’t like him. I like these characters because they had things to do and they wanted to strive to get to them but they had things that were pulling them down. So they didn’t get the chance to get to their goal.

Yes! I enjoyed the play Fences, which was written by August Wilson because I do admit that I did have second thought about the play. I first thought that the play was going to be uninteresting because when we first arrived, I didn’t really like watching it on the TV because it was boring, but when we went in the audience, I began to really enjoy the performance.
I believe that the main idea would be that you have to love your family no matter what because through out the whole play, Troy’s family was going through a lot. For example: Cory wanted to join the football team, but his father wouldn’t let him, but they still stuck together like family should, also, when ever Troy felt guilty for using the money from his brother. The reason why I say this is because Troy’s brother, Gabriel (Gabe), he was in the army, he had gotten his head hurt so he was a little slow, so the army gave him some money.
My favorite character would be perhaps Gabriel because even though he was a little slow minded, he did do what was right and he had a good personality and he would brighten up the mood in people when they were sad or mad. I also like Cory because his character is kind of like me because Cory, he follows his dream no matter what and he argued with his father all the time, and I actually follow my dreams, and sometimes I would do anything that it took in order to get it, and my father and I, we argue sometimes. The themes that stood out in the play would be, a little of racism, family, and also love. The problem that made me think the most would be when Troy told his wife (Rose), that he was seeing an other woman named Alberta, and that he was going to have a baby with her because I know a lot of people who have been through that and some how, I felt Rose’s hurt and sadness.

And the character that I enjoyed the most was Raynell with her funny little voice. But, my favorite person was Cory. Cory showed courage and had stood up to his father when he was done wrong. And last but not least my favorite part

I think that the main idea of this play was about troy fixing up a fence to keep the outsiders out. He would build it to keep his family safe. He wanted to spend time with his boy (I think).

I did enjoy the play fences even though we missed the first scene in the play .I like the play because nit is very funny and it was very interesting when Troy told Rose that he was having a BABY by another woman named ALBERTA and I do not like the way that Troy told Rose that he was having another BABY by another woman.
The theme that stood out to me is love because every one love each other till we got toward the end of the play when Troy told Rose that he was having a baby by Alberta and then rose got hurt because her and troy have been MARRIED for at least 18 years and now he chooses to hurt her and she things that he made a bad choice to cheat on her because they have been together for a long time. The problem in the play that had me thinking about it was when Troy told Rose that he was having a child it had me thinking because it was wrong that he was going out with another woman when he was MARRIED.
My Favorite characters are Raynell & Cory because he sticks up for him self even if it was his own father and he was threatening his father with his father’s own bat. Also the are my favorite characters in the play because they are brother and sister in the play and they had just met at the end of the show .I think that it was cool that Raynell and Cory the end of the show because if they did not meet then she would have never met her brother and if she ever asks about her brother Rose will jot k now what to say.

The play “Fences” by August Wilson was one of the best plays I’ve seen in my whole entire life. This play was very realistic it looked like I was in a movie theater. The characters played their roles really well. Also, it was really cool how they had those two people speaking sign language during the play. “Fences” was a really great play.
The main idea of the play is intergenerational conflict. I say this because Troy was always arguing with his son Cory. Another main idea of this play was fences. I think that because fences keep people in and sometimes keep people out. That’s what the main ideas were to me.
My favorite character is Raynell. She’s my favorite character because I really like how she said her line “Hi.” It was really cute how her character was. I really enjoyed the play and role made a little better. That’s why I think Raynell is my favorite character.
The whole cast was black and it focuses on the life of a black family in the late 50’s. It talks about how hard it is when your black back in the day. In the beginning it was boring, but then it turned interesting.
