I am for the death penalty because its a smart idea and instead of people being sentenced for life in prison being sentenced for a death penalty is better and can safe a lot more money. The death penalty is also safer because how about if the prisoner broke out of prison he could try to kill the person who put him in!!!!!!.
I really don't know what side I am on. It doesn’t even matter, because it's up to the state so they have the control. Whatever happens happens. Death penalty is better than jail but it's up to what the state thinks.
My perspective on the death penalty is that I think they should allow it but then they should not. For example if it was for an murderer that has killed over 10 people , then yes they should be put onto death penalty. But if it was for someone who was protecting themselves or protecting their family they should not be put on death penalty. Just because they had to do what they had to. They were only using self defense. So therefore, I think Death Penalty should be used more, but just for certain situations. Also they should start too allow death penalty in more states, because murder has a big population now in the whole country. Also in the text it was talking about lifetime jail. Life time jail is as worse as death, there is a tiny chance you get less time. Also you might be put into the “jail hole” which means you cannot use the phone, cannot take a shower. It is just horrible. So therefore they should really think twice, but since the scientists, religious leaders ,politicians and more important people helped the death penalty become more known, they should come up with more ideas besides death penalty. But the judge will have to make the decision with the jury to see who will be able to get death penalty. It is just insane how the death penalty is played.

In my opinion the death penalty is a perfect penalty for murderers and killers. The reason why I think that this penalty should be aloud is because some crimes are so harsh that the best punishment is for the criminal should be executed. Also the death penalty should only happen when there is a person who killed some body. This is called an eye for an eye.

My final verdict on whether or not I am for or against the death penalty is undecided. I don’t agree that it’s fair to kill 1,057 people between1977 and 2006. Some people should be sentenced to the death penalty depending on the crime. Also the retribution “an eye for an eye” is a good way to sentence someone of a murder. Another reason why I don’t like the death penalty is that the lethal injections they give people are not a good way to kill someone. If I were to kill someone I would hang him or her. It’s healthier at least the person won’t die poisoned.

I am against the death penalty because from my point of view, even though that they are governments, they have no right taking a life away like I understand that they re criminals and they’ve done wrong but still, they have no right of killing people. I am against the death penalty because I think that it is better for somebody to be left knowing that they killed somebody rather then killing them. The lesson will never be learned. Letting somebody’s emotions take control over them and letting it “eat them” out from the core is the worst punishment imaginable, They are the ones who have to live with the guilt hurt and pain by knowing that they caused some one else mental pain. I am undecided. I feel as thought there’s always two sides to a story. It all depends on what was the crime. For example rape should be put to death penalty. That’s taking advantage of someone’s mind (mentally) and physically. Murder should also be put to death penalty. I don’t think 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree murder should matter; it’s still murder! The decision on death penalty should really be thought through. Only certain crimes should receive death penalties. I am STRONGLY against death penalty because it’s never a person right to say whether a person should die or not. The person should definitely have consequences but not there life. I would simply just say that I am on both sides for that question. I believe that killing a person for killing a person is just wrong. I believe that if some one kills another person they should just go to jail for it and not be killed for it. They should get consequences for it and not get their life taken from them. I'm not Sure what side I’m on, but what I think is if someone kills another person, they should be killed but some people are mental and naturally have the urge to kill or commit a crime. Or they were sleepwalking. I think that the death penalty is wrong because nobody deserves to die... at all. Granted the person did wrong or you think the person did wrong but death is not right. I am for it because if you shoot someone on purpose that is taking someones life away.Mostly if they were a murder they deserve to die for being bad.I am against it because if i had to do self defense and i had to kill someone to defend myself i like do not have to do death penalty,because i was defending myself rather then letting myself get killed.
ReplyDeleteI am both for and against the death penalty. The reason why is because there is people all around the world that may have killed people in self defense. Like it says on the paper “- the death penalty can be applied for treason, espionage, and other crimes – the majority of cases involve the execution of people who have killed others.” Its really not fair if you get death penalty if you killed some one in self defense. Now if the person did it on purpose that’s a different story. They should first have a very good reason why and have evidence so that they don’t get death penalty. When giving an innocent person death penalty its like they are making a crime too, because they are taking the live of someone who didn’t do anything, except for trying to save there own life’s by killing some one else. If some one has killed some one for no reason and they are just trying to make up an excuse then, they can put him in jail and/or death penalty.

I am against the death penalty because the text is says “the United States, for example, executed 1,057 people in the years of 1977 -2006.” Lets say if it was one of your family members and they killed someone what would you say. And would you let them do that to your son or daughter. Would u rather have them do life sentence.

In the text the people that are for it are saying that it cost less that life imprisonment because it prevents needing to house and feed the criminal for many years and that life. So the states only think about the money that they are spending to give life sentencing
My final verdict on whether or not I am for or against the death penalty is undecided. I don’t agree that it’s fair to kill 1,057 people between1977 and 2006. Some people should be sentenced to the death penalty depending on the crime. Also the retribution “an eye for an eye” is a good way to sentence someone of a murder. Another reason why I don’t like the death penalty is that the lethal injections they give people are not a good way to kill someone. If I were to kill someone I would hang him or her. It’s healthier at least the person won’t die poisoned.

For example if someone went on a killing spree and started killing random people for no reason at all I think they should get a Death Penalty. Then again I not for Death Penalty because if a person killed someone because there defending themselves then I believe a period of jail time is necessary. Regardless taking a persons life is wrong, and nobody should do it. I also think a Death Penalty is wrong because sometime the suspect can be innocent. Like the overview says, “They say it creates a system whereby innocent people are sometimes executed.”

Only people who kill people who are a cereal killer and don't make good decisions should get a death penalty. Also, what if your just trying to protect yourself and you get a death penalty for it, that wont be fare. If there was michael myers going around and killing people of course you would go and kill him. Then if you get the death penalty that would be wrong for you and then the people would be like "sorry it goes along with the death penalty".

ReplyDeleteI am against the death penalty because from my point of view, even though that they are governments, they have no right taking a life away like I understand that they re criminals and they’ve done wrong but still, they have no right of killing people. My proof from the text is, “Opponents of capital punishment say it has no deterrent effect on crime and wrongly gives governments the power to tale a human life making them no better than the murderers they execute.” The reason why I use that as my proof is because it backs up my point because it is basically saying, so what if they are politics, they still do NOT have the right to take a life away because they are no better than the person that they executed. Im against it because say if some one broke in your house and was trying to kill you and you had a weapon and killed them i think that you should be non guilty because you used self defence , so i think it depends on what you do to get a death penalty

When Michael Jackson died scientist said it was a cardiac arrest. But now a few months later they are thinking it was his private doctor that killed him. So lets say the death penalty was permitted. ReplyDeleteI am for and against the death penalty. I am for the death penalty in some situation only because I believe in an eye for an eye. I want people to feel the pain that I feel. It’s hard losing people and I understand that and the government shouldn’t be able to kill people but it’s okay as long as you’re even. I’m against because I got to think like what if that’s my family or me I wouldn’t want that but then again I did a crime so I deserve it.

ReplyDeleteI am all for the death penalty. I am for the death penalty because if you kill someone then I think you should be killed too. You should not hate someone so bad that you want to kill them there are other ways to express anger without killing someone. Everything you do has a consequence and by the time you think your old enough to kill someone that’s the time you should no that everything comes with a consequence. But I am not for the death penalty because if its something that’s not that bad you should go to jail or prison but if you kill someone and take there life from them you should be killed too.

In the passage they say some death penalty’s are “racist” or “classist” and I say not really because you don’t see all of the one who get the penalty are black or white or Hispanic . But in some cases I think its wrong because the person could have had did nothing wrong but they want to give it to him anyway and so here state it isn’t legal they send them to another state so they can have it . I am against the death penalty because I think that it is better for somebody to be left knowing that they killed somebody rather then killing them. The lesson will never be learned. Letting somebody’s emotions take control over them and letting it “eat them” out from the core is the worst punishment imaginable, They are the ones who have to live with the guilt hurt and pain by knowing that they caused some one else mental pain. Also with the fact that they have killed and now by them doing so their family has been embarrassed anybody who knows them is embarrassed humiliated and ashamed of them and that is another fact that they will have to live with for the rest of their lives.

ReplyDeleteI am undecided. I feel as thought there’s always two sides to a story. It all depends on what was the crime. For example rape should be put to death penalty. That’s taking advantage of someone’s mind (mentally) and physically. Murder should also be put to death penalty. I don’t think 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree murder should matter; it’s still murder! The decision on death penalty should really be thought through. Only certain crimes should receive death penalties. If it’s something else, something that is as bad as murder but not as bad it should be sentenced to imprisonment. The maximum of 90 years or life.

I think its wrong and I consider giving death penalty as a murder too. No matter what the person did its not ok, and the phrase “ an eye for an eye” is in a sense fair but still wrong. I think its fair because that person that killed the other person should go through what the other person went through. So I’m between the two.

ReplyDeleteI am personally undecided to the death penalty. I don’t know which to pick. The convict both deserves it and doesn’t deserve it. The jury back then really didn’t care about lesser men. They just say guilty or not. No matter what evidence, even the smallest they convict them guilty. This is my reason.

ReplyDeleteI would simply just say that I am on both sides for that question. I believe that killing a person for killing a person is just wrong. I believe that if some one kills another person they should just go to jail for it and not be killed for it. They should get consequences for it and not get their life taken from them. I think the death penalty is wrong because it is just a way of being a side taker of some one you don’t know.
I'm not Sure what side I’m on, but what I think is if someone kills another person, they should be killed but some people are mental and naturally have the urge to kill or commit a crime. Or they were sleepwalking. I researched that when you sleep walk, you don’t know what your doing and plus, you tend to do things that are complex, that you do in reality, but the difference is that your in dream mode and you tend to act out what your dreaming.

ReplyDeleteI think that the death penalty is wrong because nobody deserves to die... at all. Granted the person did wrong or you think the person did wrong but death is not right. I totally disagree with Ajaijua( not to put her out there... Luv U!!!LOL) but even if someone in your family dies, the person who killed them needs to suffer consequenses but not through death.
To be honest I don’t agree with death penalty because people shouldn’t be able to die in jail. I think because they now that they did something wrong and they go to jail and serve time for what they did. Like is what the paper said “an eye for an eye” I don’t like that saying I don’t now why I just hate it. Okay in the real world out side the walls of jail people are killing each other no matter what anyone says, that what I think and people are killing each other in jail like it don’t matter what anyone does. I also think you should be punished if some one killed on purpose. I feel that the death penalty is not worth it because the person that committed the crime is not going to learn its lesson, their family is going to suffer for the death. I believe in an eye for an eye because if you did some you should feel the same way that the person felt. The only way they shouldn’t be convicted is if it was self defense but other then that I feel they should pay for what they did too. Also at the same time it depends on what the crime was if it was a rape then they should be in jail fo r a minimum of 15 years. That’s jus t how I feel.

For example if you kill someone’s family member then you should be killed also it’s an eye for an eye. Then am also against the death penalty because its like if you kill a person and then the government kills you then they are just doing the same thing that the convict did so what is the use. I think that if someone kills another then the deceased persons family should decide on what should happen to that person instead of killing but its their choice. I do think it cost more to kill someone then to keep them alive for the rest of their life because when you take s life then you put the killers family in pain just like the victims family. Also to get even with someone isn’t always death there are other ways to settle the problem maybe like I said the victims family can decide on what the government does with the suspect.

I don’t think that death penalty should be allowed because I personal think people came up with this because they believe an eye for an eye but really I think it pointless because I feel that yea someone killed or took a life but if you think about what will the person learn if they are put to death. I think keeping them alive is more painful then death because that person has to live though there life knowing the killed someone. I am going to tell you a story when I was 5 a drunk driver killed my father and at the time I want them man to be killed because I felt that was right because he took my dad from me but now thinking about yea he killed my dad but now he has to go around living knowing he took someone father and that doesn’t only effect him it will effect his family too. Point is even though someone didn’t something wrong no point of taking there life because it is like fighting fire with fire and nothing will be solved. I strongly believe that the only reason for death penalty is because people don’t want to take the time too see if someone was guilty or not, and that’s another thing you think it fair but what if you killed someone for something they didn’t done, that looks bad on you, so you tell me do you think it fair.
